2024 Cowichan Valley Shakespeare Festival

Step into a whirlwind of hilarity and chaos with William Shakespeare’s The Comedy of Errors—a fast-paced farce where mistaken identities, slapstick humor, and outrageous misunderstandings rule the day. In the bustling city of Ephesus, two sets of identical twins—separated by a shipwreck years ago—unwittingly cross paths, setting off a chain reaction of confusion among friends, lovers, and family alike.

The Shawnigan Players are back for our 14th season of the Cowichan Valley Shakespeare Festival! Come enjoy our outdoor performances at the enchanting Gem o’ the Isle Farm, where orchards, pastures, and beautiful Koksilah skies frame our retellings of two of Shakespeare’s timeless stories.

Antony and Cleopatra, Shakespeare’s sweeping tragedy of passion, power, and betrayal. Mark Antony, Rome’s legendary general, finds himself ensnared by the magnetic Queen Cleopatra of Egypt — a love affair that threatens to topple the Empire and ignite war. Set at the time of the birth of the Roman Empire, the story weaves between the intimacy of their love and the tragic political decisions that must be made to ensure peace in the Empire.
